Healthy Eating, Healthy Living
"exploring the relationship between yogic eating and life coaching"
2 Nov 2004
On my lunch break today I was reading an article in FitYoga called “Learn to eat like a Yogi”. And according to yogic dietary guidelines, all foods possess different vibrational energy properties. Pure foods like fresh, organic fruits and vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and dietary products, and natural sweeters such as honey, encourage balance and good health and have the highest prana (cosmic or life force enrgy) of all foods. Other foods like junk foods, overcooked foods and genetically engineered foods produce promote overeating and laziness and have the lowest prana of all foods.
In life coaching we also focus on those thoughts and activities which possess the most prana or life force. These are the things that energize you the things that you want to do, love to do, and bring you the most joy. However, most people are living their lives based on a junk food diet. Doing the things they think they should do, could do, or ought to do. And as a result they are tiered and have a limited amount of personal power, vitality, and overall wellness.
Perhaps we can learn from the guidelines of yogic eating and transfer them to our daily lives. So if yogic eating says eat foods which increase one vitality for health. Perhaps you might want to also practice doing those thing that bring out your best and make you vibrate. If yogic eating says eliminate or limit junk food than perhaps you may want to eliminate tolerations or the things that drain you. If yogic eating suggests reframe from overeating than perhaps you might want to reframe from over-promising, over-committing, and over-scheduling.
Remember you are either increasing or decreasing your life force. So choose wisely. Eat well and live well.
